INAUGURAL JEWISH AUSTRALIAN SCREEN FELLOWSHIP - APPLICATIONS OPEN MARCH 5
Jump Street Films is launching the inaugural Jewish Australian Screen Fellowship, which will support the creative and professional development of one Jewish Australian filmmaker to the value of $20,000.
Open to both emerging and mid-career artists working in all screen mediums, including film, television and digital, applicants must demonstrate how the Fellowship will successfully advance the depiction of Jewish Australians on screen.
With emphasis on authenticity and visibility, proposed works should specifically consider the key criteria - how Jewish Australian identity is elevated via the material.
12 months of personalised support from Jump Street Films will be provided on top of the value of the Fellowship.
Funding can go towards (but is not limited to) the development of a specific screen project and/or as part of a thematically aligned initiative or body of work. Funding may support the writing of a screenplay or pilot/series outline, the production of a short film or web series, or any innovative screen proposals that address the key criteria. Assessment will be based on creative merit, commercial viability, professional development potential and the ability to realise the proposal based on available funds.
Post-production support for projects already underway will not be provided. Support for feature film production will not be provided unless additional finance is in place.
Applications open on March 5 and will remain open until April 17, 2026. The inaugural fellow will be announced on May 11, 2026.
